Living Cookbooks

Where am I supposed to be my cookbook to be published?
I am working on a cookbook right now and not know where to send it to. I live in a small Town in Ohio. So when I send it? One of the major publishers in New York, Atlanta or Chicago or one of the publishers here in Columbus or Cleveland? Is it necessary to get an agent? I do not know anything about book publishers. And how much is the average agent?
It is not as easy as sending it out. Here's how it goes. After printing the pages, put it away at least 6 weeks, the absolute minimum. After she read through without changes or brands. How it sounds to You? Then take a red pen and crazy, do a little side notes, crossing out words, etc. Look for grammar, punctuation, syntax, etc. Buy a copy of the Writer's Market looking for agents and listings. If you found a suitable, please send a query letter based on their guidelines. If they want the rest for to see her book, please send either by e-mail or post, depending on the agency. If they agree, make, you are in front of the ball game. Now Genre view in Writer's Market for Publishers suited to your. Send a query or not, some they do not want to set their guidelines. Wait 6 weeks to 2 months for a response. If at the end of the booking will be published, the editor will suggest changes, and I recommend you listen, the guys know what they say. Expect up to 6 months a year and a Half of it hit shelves. But expect rejection. Every writer has gotten it, you only need to eat for breakfast and move.
