Why is my air conditioner still freezing after I changed the filter?
I have forgotten, and change the filter of my air conditioner for a full year (oops!) only thought about it the other day, at which time I opened it and found that the whole thing, even though running properly, it was frozen and dripping on the floor. I let it thaw then changed the filter, but it still keeps on freezing every time I turn it on now. How can I resolve this problem, or do I call to the technician? I live in Miami, so that the season never ends here, so buying a new unit will be expensive regardless. The AC works still, only Freezes Over each time it runs. Switching off is very difficult because it is hot here 24 / 7 so I think I'll have to pray, I can get someone here to fix it soon.
only 2 reasons for it to More Than 1 freeze dirty a-coil ... since you went a year without a filter, this could be the only problem .... 2 are low on freon ... This means you have a leak somewhere ... it is legal, but they have recharged ... but I would recommend to remove it if your cool season begins
