Sashimi Recipe

Below is an easy sashimi recipe that you can make at home. In Japan, sashimi is a very popular dish. Since Japan is surrounded by the ocean, there are plenty of fresh fish to choose from. If you don't like raw fish, you are unlikely to like sashimi, no matter what recipes. Sashimi recipes range from simple, easy sashimi recipes to complicated sashimi recipes requiring many other ingredients. Sashimi is easy to prepare. However, you do have to master the art of cutting sashimi correctly for better and fresher taste.

Sashimi and Japanese sushi

Easy Sashimi Recipe

This is an easy sashimi recipe to prepare.

Ingredients for this easy sashimi recipe:

  • raw tuna for sashimi 150 g
  • raw Hamachi for sashimi or yellow tail or other types of raw fish 80 g
  • raw squid for sashimi 80 g
  • white cabbage 5-6 cm
  • Green perilla - 4 leaves
  • wasabi 4-5 cm or according to taste

Making sashimi

  1. Cut raw tuna fish (see how to cut tuna fish for sashimi) and then place sideways to the left.
  2. Cut yellowtail fish flat similar to the tuna fish.
  3. Cut the raw squid 4-5 cm wide and place close to each other.
  4. Peel the cabbage and shred into long pieces. Submerge into ice cold water and then drain.
  5. Wash the green perilla and dry.
  6. Wash the wasabi and add a little bit of water to it.
  7. Place the shredded cabbage in a pile on a plate.
  8. Put the cut tuna fish onto the green perilla leaves alongside other cut fish.
  9. Serve cold immediately.
