  • 8 fresh eggs (separated into yolks and whites)
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of white rum
  • 3 cups of whole or 2% milk

  • 3 cups whiskey
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • ground nutmeg

When making the homemade egg nog, work slowly and gently to preserve the egg nog's fluffiness.

  • separate the eggs into yolks and whites in separate bowls
  • beat egg yolks with 1/2 of sugar then set it aside
  • beat egg whites until stiff
  • mix with the other half of sugar
  • pour the yolks into the whites
  • mix slowly
  • Stir in white rum slowly
  • Stir in milk slowly
  • Stir in whiskey slowly
  • Stir in 1/2 of cream slowly
  • Whip the rest of cream and fold in carefully
